William S. Baek ist als Neurologe am Parkside Medical Center in Kalifornien, USA, täglich mit den Herausforderungen konfrontiert, die Multiple Sklerose mit sich bringt. Im Jänner 2018 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Musik-Album, das unter anderem den Song „Walk again“ enthält. Mit diesem möchte Baek Menschen mit neurologisch bedingten Einschränkungen des Bewegungsapparats Mut machen, nach vorne zu blicken. Im Interview mit der MS-Gesellschaft Wien erklärt der 45-Jährige seine Beweggründe zur Veröffentlichung.

Herr Baek, worum geht es in „Walk again“?
Baek: Mein Song handelt von dem, was Menschen mit MS erleben.

Was hat Sie dazu veranlasst, den Song aufzunehmen und zu veröffentlichen?
Baek: Ich möchte Awareness für MS-Betroffene schaffen und durch Musiktherapie zu einer Verbesserung ihrer Lebensqualität beitragen.

Wie viele Patienten mit MS haben Sie behandelt?
Baek: Sie meinen, seit ich angefangen habe? Einige Hundert.

Wie lautet Ihre Kernbotschaft?
Baek: Gib nicht auf!
